Procurement Services offers the following services to
the University community:
Sourcing and Bidding
Procurement Services provides University departments with
information about the quality, price competitiveness, and
customer service of various suppliers, as well as any strategic
relationships formed for the various commodities. We are able to assist
campus users in identifying needs and obtaining bids/quotes from potential suppliers. For large and/or complex transactions, a request for proposal (RFP) will be sent
to insure the appropriate specifications, price, and contract
terms are present.
Quality Assurance, Compliance and
Planning
Procurement Services' work does not end when the purchase
order is complete. We assist colleges/departments by verifying
contract terms are followed, pricing and payment terms
are correct, and goods/services are received properly.
Supplier Relations
The University of Notre Dame encourages and supports participation
by minority, women, veterans and local businesses. In accordance
with this policy, Procurement Services is in the process
of developing a program to insure the selection of vendors
incorporates these businesses. The program will include
establishing a database of all participating vendors and
generating reports to be shared with principal investigators,
grant offices, and executive leadership for evaluation
and federal compliance requirements. Questions regarding

Training, Marketing and Communications
Procurement Services provides training on the buyND e-Procurement system to campus users. We also provide program based training as we roll out new contracts or arrangements with suppliers. The website and the Irish Buyer newsletter are the primarly modes of communication with our constituents.
